How to improve English for Pakistani students
1. Start Speaking Without Fear
The biggest problem is fear. Many students think:
“Log hansenge.”
“Meri grammar weak hai.”
“Meri pronunciation theek nahi.”

Remember one thing: Mistakes are part of learning.
If you do not speak, you will never improve. Start speaking simple sentences daily.
Example:
I am going to university.
Today I feel happy.
I am learning English.
Simple sentences se start karein.
2. Think in English

Most students first think in Urdu and then translate into English. This takes time and creates confusion.
Try to think directly in English.
For example: Instead of thinking: “Main pani peene ja raha hoon”
Think: “I am going to drink water.”
Start with small daily thoughts in English.
3. Practice Daily for 15–20 Minutes
Consistency is very important.
Daily 15–20 minutes speaking practice is better than 2 hours once a week.
You can:
Talk in front of a mirror

Record your voice
Speak about your daily routine
Example topic: “My daily routine”
“My university life”
“My favorite teacher”
4. Improve Vocabulary Slowly
You do not need very difficult words.
Learn 5 new words daily.
Example:
Confident
Opportunity
Improve
Practice
Challenge
Use these words in sentences.
5. Watch English Content
Watch:
English news
Interviews
Educational videos
English movies with subtitles
Listen carefully to pronunciation. Try to copy their accent and speaking style.

6. Speak with Friends
If you have a friend who also wants to improve English, make a rule:
“Only English for 20 minutes daily.”
Even if sentences are wrong, keep speaking. Slowly fluency will improve.
7. Focus on Fluency First, Grammar Later
Many students stop speaking because they worry about grammar.
First goal = Speak confidently.
Second goal = Improve grammar.
Fluency comes with practice. Grammar improves with reading and correction.
8. Join English Speaking Groups (Optional)
If possible, join:
University English clubs
Online speaking groups
WhatsApp or Discord English practice groups
Real conversation helps a lot.
9. Read Aloud Daily
Take any English article or book and read aloud for 10 minutes daily.
This improves:
Pronunciation
Confidence
Flow of speaking
10. Believe in Yourself
Confidence is the key.
Thousands of Pakistani students have improved their English. You can also do it.
Do not compare yourself with others. Compare yourself with your past version.
